West London - Kirstie's part of town - is enduringly popular. However, its popularity has driven house prices up hugely in the last few years. Still, if you can afford it and like the idea of mingling with well known faces in what's becoming known as 'Nappy Valley', it's a great place to bring up a family.
So what makes West London quite so popular? 'One of the reasons it's so hugely popular is because of the late Victorian architecture,' says Kirstie. 'The low built, stucco houses attract people. There are good schools and good transport, too.'
'It's good good green space,' continues Phil. 'I think it's one of those places that is very unlikely ever to decrease in popularity or in price.'
So, where to look for a bargain?

Although Shepherd's Bush already boasts fantastic transport links to central London and has ritzy neighbours - Notting Hill half a mile in one direction, Chiswick the other, it has remained somewhat immune to the property ripple effect so far.
To buy a two bedroom apartment in nearby Holland Park, you'd be looking at £560,000, but in Shepherd's Bush, just one stop further along the all important central line, the equivalent flat could be £200,000 cheaper.
Shepherd's Bush has a lot going on - great music venues, gastro pubs and lots of local shops. However, it does have a reputation for being abit scruffy. However, that might all be about to change.
At the north of Shepherd's Bush Green and to the west of Wood Lane, just opposite the BBC's headquarters, there's a massive shopping centre being built - set to be the biggest in Europe. It's rumoured to be destined to become a glamourous mall, including major chains, restaurants and cafes.
This plan also includes 200 affordable homes and a revamp of Shepherd’s Bush Green, which might just be enough TLC to get this area up there with the West London big boys.
