Scott from Glasgow, on How Clean Is Your House

Kim Woodburn is the real deal, with a 52 year cleaning career behind her. Aggie Mackenzie is a leading household journalist who is super hot on home hygiene. Together they are the nation’s dream team of clean and now they’re back with a new series, kicking off with Scott’s grim and grotty Glasgow flat.

44 year old Glaswegian Scott is turning a passion for boys’ toys into a brand new business. He’s making a massive, six-lane toy car track for hire at functions and parties. The trouble is that constructing it has taken its toll on his home. Cleaning has gone right to the back of the grid and Scott confesses that his cleaning rota ‘consists of clearing stuff out of the way, unless you fall over it’.

Scott’s kitchen is infested with larder beetles – they’re harmless but creepy, and live off the decaying crumbs that litter every surface, nook and cranny.

Aggie swabs Scott's kitchen surfaces

Immaculately tidy sister Amy thinks her brother’s flat is the pits. Even dog Stella looks fed up with her owner’s filthy ways. Amy’s taken it upon herself to appeal for Kim and Aggie’s help so that her brother can both launch his business, and look for love.

As Kim gets to work cleaning, Aggie goes on the hunt for germs and the results are terrifying. Will it be enough to ensure that squalid Scott changes his ways? Can they rid the flat of its menagerie of bugs and grubs?

Check out the photo gallery to find out, and see before and after pics of Kim & Aggie’s remarkable transformation...

  3. I really can not understand why able bodied people treat their homes like dustbins. My uncle suffers from cruel debilitating back pain, but keeps his house beautiful his garden is absolutely fantastic. Whenever he does his cleaning & gardening,he suffers even more pain afterwards, but says that whilst he is doing the work,it takes his mind off the pain. Iam also friendly with a lady who is paralised from the waist down, she also keeps her home beautifully clean from her wheelchair!Working full-time makes fitting cleaning in a bit difficult, but if you do a little ever day, you keep on top, even with animals children living at home. A clean ,tidy home makes for a content mind, which in turn leads to a happier person. Well done Kim & Aggie for showing how the other half live, your programme really is compelling viewing. Thankyou.
