Marylyn Springham. How Clean Is Your House, Gravesend

Asthma sufferer Marylyn Springham says she's allergic to housework. But this granny wants to create a toddler-friendly home, so Kim and Aggie lend a hand for the mother of all clean-ups.

She suffers from asthma and says cleaning isn't good for her health. But the state of her house isn't good for anyone else! Particularly her two and a half year old grandson Patrick - he's never been allowed inside.

Now, Marylyn wants to be like any other granny and have her grandson over to stay ... but it's going to take the mother of all cleaning makeovers to sort this place out.

There's only one duo for the job - Britain's top grime busters Kim Woodburn and Aggie MacKenzie. Together they introduce Marylyn to the basics of cleaning and address her concerns by keeping it chemical-free.

But it's slow-going until a trip to a local nursery gives Marylyn a toddler's eye view of the world and the push she needs to get ahead.

Marylyn may be doing this for her grandson but, as the lab results show, she'll be the biggest winner in a clean house. There was nothing fresh about the air in this place.

With the help of her family, Marylyn begins to change her ways ... but can she really alter the habits of a lifetime?

  1. I saw Maryrlyn's episode today. I could'nt catch the ratio of the spray that Kim was using to clean Maryrlyn's MDF kitchen doors in the episode. I guess it was mixture of warm water, bicarbonate of soda, and Lavendor oil, but not sure. I fed up buying expensive cleaning stuff for this job. So please someone let me know about the ratio. Thank you

  2. What was the recipe they used to clean wood floors - I think it was vinegar and camomile tea? But I missed the proportions to how much water? Thanks

  3. I've recently moved into an old property that was absolutely filthy! I was finding 'caterpillar' like bugs and didn't know what they were. I tried spraying the floors and carpets but they are still appearing occasionally. I was watching an old episode of How Clean is your House and seen them! I'm sure Aggie called them Larva Beetles - what are these and how can I get rid of them?

  6. Hi Kelly You've presumably tried to wash it. I'd guess the lipgloss is oil based - so if it hasn't come out in the wash, I'd suggest you take it to a dry cleaners (and get whoever wrote on your top to pay for it!)
