The countdown has begun for this year’s Grand Designs Live at the NEC in Birmingham. So, if you feel inspired to renovate or even build your home, don't miss the show.

Grand Designs Live is the only consumer exhibition offering visitors the chance to build, renovate and furnish their homes, all under one roof. Plus, with six exhibitions in one - GRANDInteriors sponsored by Samsung, GRANDBuild sponsored by VELUX, GRANDKitchens, GRANDBathrooms, GRANDGardens and the GRANDVillage sponsored by first direct - you’ll find everything you need for your own grand design. This year’s show will have everything from design, build, interiors, homewares, gardens, kitchens, bathrooms, innovation, and the latest in sustainable living.
If you’re looking to renovate, improve or extend your existing home rather than move this year, Grand Designs Live Birmingham will provide you with plenty of amazing ideas to unlock its potential and turn your dream home into a reality. This year’s event will have lots in store, including new interactive features, many exciting exhibitors, offering an unrivalled range of products – many you will not find on the high street - and plenty of celebrity experts.

If you're interested in shiny gadgets and home entertainment, the House Of The Future, sponsored by Samsung, has a living room filled with the ultimate domestic gadgetry and home technology to demonstrate how innovation can go hand in hand with design and style.
Alternatively, come and experience the live cooking demonstrations by some of Birmingham’s top chefs in the LIVE kitchen experience, or taste the culinary delights of Jean Christophe-Novelli in the exclusive Celebrity restaurant.
Kevin McCloud himself will be at the event and officially opening the show at 10am on 9 October, as well as The Home Show’s George Clarke, who will be giving advice on design, build and architectural renovations.
Visitors will also get the opportunity to get the best garden advice in the Grand Show Gardens, where experts will be on hand to help your garden come alive.
If all this wasn’t enough, listen to the big debates in the Grand Seminar Theatre, sponsored by first direct, and even receive a free consultation with an architect or designer in the Expert Advice Centre, sponsored by VELUX.
For the first time ever, The Grand Village, sponsored by first direct, will be coming to the NEC as a NEW feature on the future of homes and build. Previously only seen at the London show, the Grand Village explores a series of new build eco dwellings that demonstrate the ways in which architects and designers are pushing the boundaries of design and construction to create and build the most advanced, energy efficient homes.
So if you’re looking to renovate, improve or extend your existing home rather than move this year, Grand Designs Live Birmingham will provide you with plenty of amazing ideas to unlock its potential to turn your dream home into a reality.

Grand Designs Live Birmingham, sponsored by British Gas will take place from Friday 9 until Sunday 11 October 2009 at the NEC, Birmingham, B40 1NT. Open 10am – 6pm Friday and Saturday, 10am – 5pm Sunday.
