1. I want to build an underground eco home on my old pump station, but what a nightmare the planning would be, same old news you cannot change use to residental. What a great home it would make, it is on Brown belt. Can u give any advice.? Good mission for TV.

4. Kevin, despite being 39 years of age with a wife, 3 kids and a successful career in government you have inspired me to return to study in Architectural Drafting. I started last week and feel that at long last I have found something I actually enjoy doing. Now I can't wait to finish but the reality is it will be a long path so I'm just trying to slow down, enjoy the ride and get as much out of this as I can. Thanks for such an inspiring show! Having grown up in the UK for 20 years and then living in Australia for 19 years I now feel the need to revolt against the humdrum banality of Australian architecture. 6. Dear Kevin, I am wrecking my brain trying to find land that will accommodate my own design. Most land that is sold with planning permission has already detailed design approved, how can I buy land for self build and build my own design? Can you/ or any of the people who managed to build their dream home advise me on how they did it? Many thanks rgds Dee Connery ps. This is the only way that I know where to ask you.

7. Love the prog and have watched each episode avidly, even the repeats. But so far you've not done a follow up to the Regency villa in Surrey. I assume it was finished, but it would have been nice to have Kevin's "Grand Tour" and see the house finished and furnished. Not a complaint, just an observation. Keep up the good work, Kevin.

8. Did south Africans Jen and Derek finish there house, is there going to be a follow up? Looked on google earth, the picture was dated 2005, so it looked pretty much the same as on the show

11. Hey! Two episodes and still no finished article - are Tom and Judy Perry in their Kent 'gull wing' house yet? Any plans for a third programme or a revisit? Or just some photos. Am a big fan of the design and probably an even bigger fan of the undaunted Tom and his long suffering wife, so give us an update guys!! Cheers, Duncan

12. Kevin Whatever happened to the chappy in kent (I think) who was building the house with the gull wing roof did he ever finish did he stay in the house? I do hope so would it be possible to veiw the results on line or even in a program would be interested to know Keep going with the program it is an inspiration to all of us to see what is possible if you get creative and brave and happen to find / make lots of money have been an avid veiwer from the beggining keep it up

13. Hello there! just wanted to say how much I enjoy your programme and has to be my favourtie programme on telly!! I sit 'glued' to my chair as soon as it starts and no-one is to interupt me until it finishes -addicted you could say!! Kevin has such an amazing job and wondered if he needed some-one to carry his luggage or something???? If so, I'm your luggage carrier, just an email away! I think my favourite one was the old ruins in a wee French village where the couple took on all the renovations nearly themselves, have nothing but admiration for them. 15. I settled down to watch Grand Design on Wednesday, January 28th as it was advertised in the Daily Mail TV Magazine. The advertisement said that the first program would follow Sarah & Dean who bought a derelict folly outside Newport South Wales, with the intention of restoring it. I was very interested in this as I lived very close to Kemys Folly when I was a child and wanted to see what they had done to it. I was really disapointed when the program shown featured an old apprenice store near Bath, Somerset. Nothing was said about the change of program. Will the program featuring the Folly be shown in this series and if so when. Regards Pauline Jayne

18. Just finished watching this episode, and teared up. Hats off to the Shaws and the stonemasons and other tradesmen (artisans, really) who restored this castle for a stunning job and for not giving up. I hope they're all surviving the financial crunch, and doing as well professionally as they clearly deserve to.

19. We have just been watching the grand designs episode where the couple, from Lanbourne in Berkshire, were living in a run down bungalow and build a wooden octaganal house beside it. We are in a similar situation, in that we are living in an 1850's cob cottage, comprising of just 4 rooms, which is very small and damp. We would like to build a new house beside it and demolish the cottage. Unfortunately we are unable to obtain planning permission and all our plans and appeals have been refused. This has been going on for nearly 2 years. My question is how do other people manage to get planning permission and we are unable to get it. I wonder if you have any tips or advice you can give us. We live in the Purbeck Council area in Dorset.

I live not far from Southend, and today my husband and I had a drive out to have a stoll on the Pier, we noticed that strange Eco Barge is still moored in Leigh and appears to have been deserted, could you tell us if there is any updates on this strange design, its such a shame to see it just left to slowly get eroded away - the couple seem to hav had nothing but bad luck with this project maybe an update programme would be an idea, as you have revisited some past projects regards Michelle Warman East Tilbury
