1. i absolutely adore this house, it is just amazing, it is an inspiration to many. Beautiful scenery, i would love that kind of view. who wouldn't, i must say, i am deeply jealous.

2. Watched this last night (23/09/09). Well done Francis and Karen. What a huge and amazing undertaking. I honestly could not believe that they could do it, when I saw it at the start - what a frightful old dump, and even worse when that wall crumbled. But the end results were unbelievable and very beautiful. Those heritage people should be pleased that their are folks out there who are willing to put their money into restoring wonderful old pieces of English history. The Twenty thousand pounds that they had to pay the Heritage people could have been put to better use on the project. The view from the roof was to die for and reminded me of a Constable painting - just breath taking. I wish this couple all the very best, they have made a dream come true and at great cost to themselves.

3. I have just watched this programe in New Zealand. What an amazing couple. Well done to the both of them for sticking with it. What amazed me was all the trouble they had with the heritage people and the time delays. i can understand why they would want this done a certain way but any way would have been better than seeing the building fall down completely...mind you if they were dealing with our local councils they would have been really concerned as it takes over 6 months just to get a building concent for a standard house....

6. Stayed at the Castle last week. Such an amazing place and such a delightful couple. The scale of the project must have been enormous and it was exciting finding lots of quirky features throughout the building.So much character in the Chapel Bedroom and that red granite bath - wow! Also the setting very beautiful. Full of admiration for the owners and what they have achieved. Would love to visit again.

9. i watch all the grand design programs i love the show but this was the best one,,ive great admiration for building his dream he never gave up,,,an turning it into a family bed and breakfast to pay for it,, its exactly what i would love to do.he put his heart and his soul into it and should great courage because in the end it payed off,

15. This was an excellent programme showing the total restoration of a once dilapidated Yorkshire Castle. I fully appreciate the owners' need for privacy but would appreciate at least a clue to the castle's exact location. The Yorkshire Dales cover a vast acreage !

18. I just love this show, but the ones we see in OZ are old. Some going back 8 years. I would love to see some of the homes now to see how things have gone. I would love the series to be updated with some of the newer shows. Keep up the good work!!

19. i have been lucky and stayed at the castle .I highly recommend it .books on the history of the tower are available to read also pictures of the renovation. karen and francis are wonderful hosts nothing is too much trouble.the views ,peace and quiet re charge ones batteries what perseverance they both had in overcoming all the difficulties of the build .well done to them!i must say the 4 poster beds are a dream to sleep in !

22. Hi, I am currently designing a house of my own. I have a fantastic view also form the attic but I never know a good way to exploit it. After seeing what you had done to the attic, I immediately rang up my architect and told him that this is what I want incorporated into my house, period! The castle really looks wonderful and it's a testament to you both for seeing the project through, fair play. I hope all goes well for you both in the future.

31. Just wanted to congratulate channel 4 for all their great programmes. Mr McCLOUD rocks as does Phil and Kirsty. If it were for these pieces of telly delight I would have got rid of my T.V ages ago. Being a thirty year old stuck in London isnt my dream but hopefully one day I will be able to get all of your team involved when I win the lottery. 37. thought this was a wonderful project. was horrified at the attitude of english heritage. surely if english heritage was making all these demands, they should have provided grants. after all the building was being preserved and restored, rather than decaying to rubble. as with so many others, any chance we can get details on how to contact to stay there?

71. I sat and watched Grand Design last night, this was by far the best property i have seen on your programme. Wow what a massive job, and such determination from both owners. 78. Dear Grand Designs How about supplying a list of suppliers, craftsmen, professionals etc for each Grand Design - a la 60 minute make-over... would be very useful n'est pas? Forinstance, Yorkshire Castle: who were the Masons and which supplier did they use for the 'square' downpipes?
