  2. Grand Designs is a very encouraging show. I am very impressed with all the efforts that was put into producing these series. I try to never miss an episode. It's given me many ideas and insights as to how I could incorporate the many methods in my designs. Pity, not much could be said about this web site. Honestly, this site desperately needs a 'Grand Design'! The layout, access, positions, fonts, just the whole lot needs a complete rework. It is awful. If you're going to spend so much time and effort showing the world such opulent homes and unique cutting edge builds and designs in the 21 century, why must we be subjected to this substandard, bandwidth hungry, layout confused, last century, poor excuse of a website. It's not even centered! The home page looks nothing like the rest of your site! I am appalled!!

  6. We have just bought series 4 on dvd here in Australia. Can anyone tell me where I can buy the other series that are available. Such a fantastic programme and so many ideas that can be adapted to your own lifestyle. Thanks to Kevin and all the people involved.

  7. To the person with the problems with the sash & case windows - if the windows are rotten, there are a number of companies who can manufacture replacements to the original design, and fit double glazing at the same time. This will look better and preserve the value of your traditional house. Also, new sash/case windows will have sophisticated draught exclusion systems as well as being easier to operate and clean. Speak to Blair Joinery in Scotland who supply a lot to traditional tenements in Glasgow. You will probably find this will solve your problems alone - most noise/draught issues are due to poor sealing. If you want to go further you can also fit secondary glazing internally. Again the appearance of the house will not be spoilt and the net effect will be absolutely zero sound or air infiltration, to an uncanny and possibly disturbing degree. This is far better than triple glazing or any of the other solutions, and UPVC windows just look totally out of context on a traditional house.

  8. Hi there,Many many thanks for a fantastic show,i live in Norway and catch your show in Spain where we are for 6 months of the year,i dont understand why David and Greta Iredale`s old wooden house was rotten only after 40 years,we have wooden houses in Norway that are much older and still going strong, one thing we do is to air the property every morning no matter what the weather,ie we open front and back doors and let the wind blow through which takes away any damp air from the previous night, keep up the good work and try getting to norway to watch a build there, Regards Chris hogden

  10. I love the Haufhaud design so much, ever since I saw the program when it was first broadcast I have aspired to one day live in one as the process of construction and the finished product are spectacular. This was the house that made me begin to appreciate buildings and find them fascinating - I am now half way through a building surveying degree and looking to try and incorporate Haufhaus into my disseration.

  16. I'm desperately looking for triple glazing for a Victorian house. Currently have rotting sash that let in all the noise of a very busy road and all the cold of the winter. Any advice or names of suppliers very gratefully received
