Bending this building to a modern aesthetic is taking a lot of time and heartache. After seven months of design work and tweaking, the industrial walkway is finally in production and Kevin goes to the fabricators to see why this is of one of the most expensive elements of the house.
The pattern of dots is being cut very precisely. Chris Southworth, the Materials Manager says "We’ve got three laser machines. On the larger machine, which is a 6 kilowatt, we can cut to plus or minus 0.1 of a millimetre." This technology is clever, but it isn’t cheap - and to Kevin's eye, the cut pattern is nothing special.
