David and Leonie have worked tirelessly for the last four years to create this sanctuary. With the business up and running they can finally return to their own work as artists and sit back and enjoy the Puglian lifestyle.
They've worked a miracle here and they have done it on a budget on just £25,000. That's for everything. So how have they done it?
Well they've embedded themselves in the local culture here, they've got to know people, they've bought local materials - they've also had loads of help from friends and family.
But the success of this place, I think, is really down to their own effort, their own inconsiderable artistic talents - those are the two most important things.
Human energy and human talent have the most transformative effect.
