1. S'mae, We have just watched the program of the Newport Folly. I sat mesmerised, looking at the scenery, and saw the bridge and the River Severn, it was wonderful. You see I am from Newport, I grew up in Maindee, and to see something of my country was such a thrill. I found it hard to find my bearings, and think maybe the Folly is near Chepstow, or maybe Christchurch way, can you tell me where it is please. I was 12 when my family left Newport, and came to New Zealand. But Newport has always been 'home' to me. I am so very grateful that you showed this, thanks you so much for blessing this old Welsh lady in NZ, whose heart thrills still when she talks or hears about Wales. Always was, and always will be 'The Land of my Fathers'. PS, loved the Folly too, what a great job that young couple made, hope they enjoy many years of hapiness in their home.

4. I have to say, Grand Designs is probably the only show my husband and I can agree to watch together and we watch it religiously. The Newport Folly renovation was viewed in Australia in the beginning of April so apologies for my late comments. Well done Sarah for a magnificent job well done I too have a grandson who is 2.5 years-old and obsessed by trucks and diggers, and would leap for joy if we could read his bedtime stories by the light of the same revoloving bedside lamp viewed in the last scene of the show in Rueben's room. Would you mind terribly passing on the brand/supplier of this gorgeous children's lamp? All the best and hope you enjoy many, many years of happiness, love and health in your beautiful new home!

8. Great project - I love the mix of old and new - could someone please advise me of the product used for the grey rubber roof? - I'm planning to use it or something similar on a curved roof rear extension to an 18th Century Water Mill.

9. Great home and very inspirational. In the show you mentioned the Kitchen was 'high street', I think kevin joked 'kensington'. I would be interested to know where as we are choosing our kitchen in the next few months. Also my wife really liked the silver bath and again we would be interested to know where it was sourced from.

11. Hi Laura - not sure if you are confusing us with the house in Bath that was the first in the series. Our windows came from Brockweir Glass (see where to buy pages above for their details) and aren't double glazed units. However I do remember that the Bath ones were and I think the details are on their pages. Hope that helps.

12. Hi Andrew - am assuming you're the same person I just posted a comment to on the photos pages of the website. It gets a bit confusing as you can post comments on different sections but they don't run across the whole site dedicated to this build. Anyway, the tiles were from Gwent Tiles and are from Rak Ceramics, Seine range in Light Grey. Hope that helps and thanks for your comments. You've watched it more than us!

13. Hi Morgy. Not sure what happened to my last question - it seems to have disappeared. Congrats on a fantastic project and bringing a neglected and unloved building back to life. I must admit to watching your episode 3 times now!! I wish I had the courage and imagination you guys have shown. 14. Who did you use for the glazing of the windows in the folly. I think you said it was a firm that had done some "double glazing" for the National Trust,?they were based in Scotland, and that it didn't look like the traditional double glazing and could (subject to the planning/planner) be used in listed buildings. 19. Hi Tom, the entertainment/automation system that we have used is manufactured by an American company called Netstreams. It is a networked IP based system which we did a lot of research on. It is a fantastically intuitive system that can largely control what you want. Yes we do have underfloor heating but we chose to control this separately (this was largely down to the fact that we don't have mains gas and had to use a specialised biomass boiler that Netstreams didn't support). The company that installed the system are called Smartcomm. They are based in High Wycombe but travel all over the UK. we would whole heartedly recommend them as they are a very professional and innovative company..Good luck

21. Wonderful place, really enjoyed the episode. We are looking at automating our home and it sounded from the program as if you have some experience. Could you tell me what technology you went with on this build and how you have found it. Seeing as the components are quite expensive we want to get it right first time. Do you have underfloor heating in the extension?

Hi Lisa - wallpaper is from Harlequin (I think) and was from www.wallpaperdirect.co.uk, bedside lamp bases were bought about 2 years ago when I started stockpiling things for the folly - think they may have been Matalan and the shades came from HomeSense. The bedding was from Next, throw from TK Maxx. Bargain hunting is my thing!!

28. Loved the interior design and finish of your house. Picked up most of the suppliers from previous comments but where was the sparkly glass light in the kitchen from? I've seen it before but can't for the life of me remember where? Well done and hope you enjoy it.

30. N - the mirrored door into the cinema from the living space was a standard door we used throughout the Follyy and on one side we simply had a piece of glass cut by Acorn Glazing to fit, with some skirting board added beneath this to allow it to blend into the wall a bit more. Hope that helps.

35. Dining room chairs are the Louis Ghost & Victoria by Phillipe Starck. Lots of places sell them - these were purchased from Pink Apple Design on the internet.

36. Sofa from www.surplussofas.com, wallpaper from www.wallpaperdirect.co.uk - think it was Harlequin. Apologies for the confusion re the render - it was Weber that was used. Grey carpet on stairs was supplied by Sunlux in Newport. The table that Sarah designed (small website error!) was made by Creative Timbers. Most supplier details are in this section if you scroll through the pages.

53. Couple of answers for you: Render was K-Rend, colour was chosen in consultation with the conservation officer, plasterers employed by Bendon Construction applied the render, kitchen was from MFi and bath was custom sprayed for an exhibition and bought from the exhibition.

61. Shame that the extention mimics the Celtic Manor! A bit too disco-ish too. The folly is wonderful and the renovations very sympathetic but the architect on this extension really hasnt made much of an impact on me. Can't believe the planners/CADW really passed this extenstion without a fuss ???? Shame we didnt know the true cost of the finished project.
