This ep just screened in Aust and just absolutely fell instantly in love with the folly and it's design, and the furnishings - everything was just aweinspiring, and it couldn't belong to a seemingly nicer family than Sarah, Dean and little Ruben. Congrats to Sarah for overseeing everything too - just an inspiration.

2. Selfbuilder - Because it was an extension to a listed building then we were able to work under a zero vat rating on much of the new build. This is because the Folly is listed though.

3. Well done on a wonderful project. I'm looking at doing a project on a somewhat smaller scale than this, that also involves building a large 'new build' onto a very much smaller existing structure - I wonder if Sarah and Dean managed to recalim the VAT on their new build or whether because of the attached Folly the whole project was counted as a renovation?

4. We thought the folly was amazing! This was the best Grand designs Programme so far. We drove into South Wales today and could just about see it on the hill top. What a wonderful place to live!

5. well, i have to say, reading the comments by the people with obvious jealousy issues, i honestly believe we did not get to see the complete factors within this build. I think a fantastic job was done by all and the result was a beautiful redevelopment of a property which many people would not have had the time, energy or commitment to acheive. I just hope they have a fantastic future in a home they thoroughly deserve!!

6. The Newport Folly looked fab - inside and out, nice to have a mix of some warmer looking cosy rooms and clean modern lines. Also Sarah and Dean came across as such nice people, and willing to put the work in themselves

7. having just watched GD newport folly i thought it was a fantastic looking job but i would have thought sarah would have had more hassle with the conservation arc... even tho he could have no complaints about the finnished job. i did agree with kev that not having the small 2 storey ext would have been better I thought sarah did a great job of manerging the project i did wonder if she allways got on with the builder as you showed no arguments i assumed they did.hope i could work on a project like that sometime. ps didnt she look better blonde ,sorry i am a builder after all dad the builder
