When you go on holiday and you get on the plane, you don't just walk straight into the cockpit and try and fly the thing yourself, do you? Which makes it seem vaguely ridiculous that some people try and project manage their own builds. Helen and Andrew however, they found, a kind of better way to engage with their project.
They looked and they learnt and then they researched and commissioned and invested in all the things that make a project like this work, things like design and craftsmanship and detail. And as a result this place is not some slavish dead copy of an art deco building, this place has got real vitality.
