Birmingham: The Church Wow.....dedicated input and the result shows. Not watched many but thought the show was well presented and shows everyday people acieving above the accepted norm. Congrats to the owners, presenters and all involved....good work.
Whilst I have every admiration of the couples determination and efforts, I thought the cooments made by Kevin needed to be said. The owner has done incredibly but a professional approach to the design would have given the project so much more. It needs to be said that architects are very important and its very annoying the attitude that people dont like employing them. The project was not in my taste, stained glass windows to habitable rooms, natural light is the most important architectural ingredient and this was missing and internal rooms with the swimming pool appear uncomfortable, but we all have our opinions and I have nothing but admiration for the couple and knowing what they have acheived must fulfil them with such happiness.
We just watched this episode this evening and were amazed at what Dean Marks and his wife have achieved. It was a monument to the value of determination and hard work. And a testament to the spirit of the man and wife team behind this amazing project. The programme was hugely inspiring and we have the very deepest respect for the sacrifices and achievements of this family. We hope they live very happily in their new home which they have earned for themselves. Less commendable, however, was the persistently negative attitude of Kevin, the show's presenter. Whether a natural trait of his or merely something put on in the interest of "making television", it came across as overly petty in the face of the sacrifices of the family and the scale of the dream they had. Dean Marks had a great vision and he did a great job of achieving it.
Please can you give me a contact for the company that supplied and fitted the plastic ceiling covering over the pool in the Church development at Dudley Bham. Thtank you.
