3. In general, I have thought this series to be lightweight, evidently low budget, but curious, if only to see the inside of some of the beautiful houses in this country. Cothay Manor looks absolutely the real deal as period properties go, but this episode of the country houses rehab prog had me irritated because of the lack of any real visible progress and more so because of the constant repetition of the same shots of the gardens, as if there was no good material to use. The fact that the prog ends with a cusory line that the owners would take on some of the advice, but with no follow up, seems to make the program rather pointless.

7. I watched this because I'm interested in gardens and Id heard of Cothay, but what a fascinating programme. I really warmed to Mrs Robb in the end - what an amazing woman! Brilliant the way she was willing to get over her hang-ups about modern sculpture. I googled the guy with the stainless steel sculptures (pic above). Ian Marlow He has a website http://www.marlowsculpture.co.uk which shows more of his work. Amazing stuff! and he got a bit about the program on it too. so I guess you could email him and ask where the sculpture is now. He's in Somerset too. And has a sculpture garden so perhaps you can see it there.

8. I really enjoyed this programme. Cothay Manor is so beautiful. I very much liked Ian Marlow's steel sculpture, is it possible to view the actual sculpture anywhere at present? Hope someone can advise me on this. Thanks Sue

9. If you goggle cothay manor somerset you will find directions and the house's own website. I was heartened to see form the web site that the Robbs have taken on board some of the financial advice they were given without compromising the uniqueness of Cothay. I for one plan to visit next year - good luck to the Robbs.

10. Loved watching this programme and thought Mary Anne & Alistair were open to the suggestions made, but just didn't have enough drive left in them to make the necessary changes. Best of luck Mr & Mrs Robb & would love to see a return visit to see progress!

14. A stunningly beautiful house and garden, what amazing people Mr & Mrs Robb are. Have they thought to hire the house out to a film studio to get more cash? Also have they asked their local council if they can put up directions to their house on local roads? More tours of the house would also be wonderful. When I next get to Somerset I shall make sure I visit. The very best of luck for the future.

16. regarding Cothay manor. I have just finished watching the program and very rarely feel the need to comment on tv programs but that house and its gardens are absolutely wonderful and very very beautiful.Alastair and mary-anne have made a heaven on earth and I wish them every success in the future. If I could inherit it I would think me the luckiest person alive!!

17. What a fantastic couple mr and Mrs Robb are. Their home and garden is maggical - I do feel sad that their offspring are unable to carry on their with their parents' life work- but I suppose it is not everyone's cup of tea. Its hard work creating and maintaining such a charmed place. I would love to have been given the chance to!

21. If you are keen for the Robbs to obtain more visitors why on earth do you not give the full address. Somerset is a large county. How do we find it with no address?

23. Cothay Manor is gorgeous - a real secret garden! I first found out about it via the DVD "The Heart of a Garden", a really inspiring watch, full of stunning flowers, plants and wildlife - and, perhaps most intriguingly, the personalities behind the gardens. Not just Cothay on it, but lots of others too - some famous (like Trebah in Cornwall), and some hidden gems like Cothay. I'd really recommend it to other garden lovers!
