2. Even thought I now have tummy ache from eating too many biscuits... I found the programme absolutely hilarious! I was watching the show in Sydney and Adrian is the spitting image of one of my dear friends, Mark... albeit Adrian is somewhat older and is a builder from Halifax - they both share the same wacky sense of humour which makes them the characters that we all know and love!! Hee hee - am high on sugar! woooooooooo xx

4. After watching the programme it just seemed there are not enough hours in the day for Adrian and Caroline. Would it be a good idea if they could advertise for help from healthy retired (or redundant) people who would jump at the chance to give their time, knowledge and skills ie maintenance, building, admin. in return for board and lodgings.. Perhaps these couples could rent out their own properties while they're away so getting income that way... Good luck to them, they deserve to make it!

5. I would like to point out that black clauchrie does not own any of the land around its gardens .that was shown in the programe as this is owned by South House Estate and the ellis estate .

6. I loved the programmeand the views were just beatuiful. Is the house open for holiday makers and if so are small dogs allowed. Unable to find a website for the house, please let me know if we could book a holiday. Good luck to Adrian and Caroline.

7. I don't know how to access the actual programme. I have the web page with many wonderful items, but I just want to catch-up on the episode that I missed. BBC i-player is much more straightforward for us simpletons.

8. We have had many family holidays in Dumfries and Galloway, it is a real find. Much quieter than the Lakes, Dales or (central) Highlands and just as scenic, with a wonderful coast. I recommend the area. Black Clauchrie looks wonderful and I had to sympathise with Adrian - working to build up capital for repairs and development was increasingly unsupportable. The old addage came to mind " when you are up to your *ss in alligators it is difficult to remember you were trying to drain the swamp!" Best of luck... visit as many Arts and Crafts homes as you can, the owners are always willing to talk.

9. Truely a great programme, Black Clauchrie is a beautiful place. My husband and I were watching the programme last night and both came to the same concusion, we wanted to help them restore the house and outbuildings, making them places for poeple to come and relax whilest having a short or long break holiday, away from it all. We have dreamt of doing the same thing for our family. The location, views and surrounding area is absolutetly fantastic, what a place to live. I was certainly glad to see, by the end of the programme, that Adrian had giving in and put all his effort into the house and buisness rather than keep working and lose the house of their dreams. I just wish my husband and I were able that make the same dream come true. We would go tomorrow if possible, Shand family from Bradford. The website is accessable by the link above and looks great.

14. I was wondering the same thing. You can visit the site through cottages and castles website. Just love the house. It would be a pity if the business had folded - such tremendous potential. I would love the house myself, and can feel a business plan coming on ;-)

17. I agree we Ruth but The lad has worked bloody hard ard to do 2 jobs at once and i think that The lass should hire in some staff to help her at the house. And now that he has given up farming well all a can say is good on you lad as no wealth came from farming as my auld man said. So best o luck to you and the family on the house and you never know me wife 40th soon so may be give you a call for weekend break al the best to both of you and keep the chins up lad.
