Rich: I know you’ve been a very busy man recently – what’s been occupying you?
Monty: Well, the vineyard you saw on the TV programme will have its grapes picked next week - they're not quite ripe yet. I've rented lots more vineyard this year - on the show I had around five acres, but this year I’m renting about 25 acres. I'm still renting the same vineyard from the show but the guy I rent from has more Carrignan, which is a weird grape that people either love or hate, and the idea of that is to make more of Monty's French Red. I also have some other vineyards that are either being turned organic or are certified organic - I'll be making an oak-aged red wine in very small volumes, and an oak-aged white too.
