Making biodynamic compost might be Monty’s idea of fun. However Linzie, she of the fake nails, straightened hair and city background, is less than keen. But with a bit of encouragement from Monty she (somewhat reluctantly) gets stuck in.
The remaining ingredients of the fertiliser are a mixture of herbs. According to Monty’s book on biodynamics, they provide a cosmic gateway so planetary forces can act on growing plants.
Monty: ‘This whole barrel of compost is an earth remedy. So it makes sense to make it on an earth day when the moon is in Virgo. So Virgo’s an earth sign, yeah?’
Linzie, not surprisingly, is beginning to wonder what she’s let herself in for.
