“It’ll be interesting because, with a little bit of prejudice, I’ve always struggled with Carignon in the past,” says John, to Monty’s dismay. “So I’m very interested to try this.”
And the verdict? “I find this really good,” says John. “It’s succulent, it’s warming and it has that kind of… savour. In the way that French wine can be, it’s like food - and it does seem to have that sustaining power. I like it.”
The others agree. “It’s fantastic,” says one. “It’s excellent,” says another. “Very, very good.”
“Great,” says John. “We’ll take it.”
With twenty cases sold here it looks like Monty’s new career as a wine maker is assured.
