Monty has a treat for Linzie’s first day on the job: spreading organic compost by hand over the entire five and a half acre vineyard. It’s hardly what Linzie had in mind when she signed up to the romantic-sounding wine-making adventure. Her last job was in a glossy showroom selling prestige cars! Not only have they got over six thousand vines to compost, but Monty also intends to convert Linzie to his rather unusual philosophy. ‘There’s an expression that we have as biodynamics growers, which is that the best sound a vine can hear is the sound of the vine growers’ feet,’ explains Monty. ‘And a Birmingham accent!'
