I had done it. Bill, who had been so firm but fair when
judging a mostly dull set of bio wines with me all those years
ago, had judged my wine. He didn’t care whether it was
biodynamic or not, just that it was good. And to Bill it seemed
that it was. As I took a sip of wine – my wine – with Bill nodding
his approval and Harry patrolling around my feet, it was one of
those crystalline moments that you want to go on forever. Bill,
however, had other ideas.
‘Right then,’ he said ‘where are we going for lunch?!’
