  1. I am truly amazed that Nottingham is considered 2nd worst place to live. We've lived here for 20 years, having lived in Essex, Wiltshire and London, also Australia. It's great living here, and the East Midlands generally. Obviously every city has its crime hotspots- but these tend to be in specific areas, avoided by most. This does not affect the quality of life. In Nottingaham and surrounds, there is a huge choice of amenities, fantastic shopping centre, and centre of arts and culture.Also- it's location makes it highly accessible to other major cities, and a huge range of things to do and visit. Also- very close to countryside, including Derbyshire and the Peak district. Please ask local people and visitors for a more accurate view- not the usual stereotype, due to some random gun crime- which most people never come into contact with. The quality of life here is mostly excellent, and a very popular place to live!
