Jasmine Harman: About Jasmine Harman

Before presenting A Place In The Sun Jasmine had a successful career in the Health and Fitness Industry.

She was a Health Club Manager in the UK but was headhunted for the position of Marketing Manager for an exclusive Health Spa in Portugal where in addition to her day to day job she organised events, redesigned their corporate image, ran advertising and promotions campaigns.

Amazingly she also found time to start working with Algarve’s major radio station, Kiss FM - she hosted her own twice-weekly show which was a mixture of music and chat and interviewed such star guests as Gloria Gaynor. Not content with two jobs, Jasmine took on yet another as a journalist and wrote a regular health page for a glossy Algarve magazine.

Wanting to expand her horizons still further Jasmine's thoughts turned to working in television, so when she saw a web site advertising for presenters on A Place In The Sun she decided to give it a go and went for an audition.

Freeform TV producers immediately spotted her potential and with her natural interest in travel and having lived abroad offered her the job of the abroad presenter on the new spin-off programme A Place In The Sun - Home Or Away. Jasmine then went on to present this latest series of A Place In The Sun.

  1. Hi Jasmine! As a fairly new viewer, I receive the programme via satellite, I've probably missed several episodes. Have you ever shown homes on the eastern side of the Algarve, i.e. east of Faro? My permanent home is in Germany, but I also spend around two months a year in Portugal. I Like your programme, very interesting with you as a very beautiful and charming presenter. Jeff

  2. Hi Jasmine, A while back (very useful! sorry...) I watched your program where you showed a couple a chalet in Switzerland that had been designed by an architect and the architect appeared in th segment. I know most homes are designed by architects but this chalet was a beautiful blend of modern light and space efficient architecture in a traditional chalet. The couple did not buy it. Does this ring a bell? I would like to know the name of the architect's company. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Alan.

  5. Jasmine, yesterday at the end of the programme it said see this website for how to participate but I can't find any link! We lived in Dubai but moved back to UK when my husband retired. We miss the sun and we miss the sea. If we could find a nice little place here by the sea we might stay but I'd prefer somewhere with a more reliable and warmer climate, also near the sea. Help please!!

  7. Hi there Last year (I think it was over the summer of 2008) you showed a property in a "gated community" in Espinho, on the Silver Coast. I thought that I had bookmarked the episode witht the estate agents details, but the page no longer shows this info. Could you please advise which estate agents were involved in this episode and/or could you let me have the name of the complex (gated/secure community) that was shown. Thanks for a great program and thanks in advance for any help. Jose

  10. hi I usually watch the programme; my spacial interest is on the away properties, being Spanish I love the sun. I would like to ask if it would be possible to move away from bricks and morter properties and look at more sustainable dwelings.

  12. Excellent proggram, but I have reservations on the many that have sought property in both the UK and Florida recently only to learn that the majority say thanks but we need more time to think about it! Why on earth go through the process unless its to get on the telly in the first place. One in particular was a couple in the south of England where he was going to set up his own plumbing buisness to then decide it wasnt what they wanted or could well afford!!! again why go through the motions? unless its the 15 min fame lark. I would love the chance to buy a property in Florida, even if was just for rental income, but the markets bottoming out on both sides of the atlantic has made us dip into our deposit fund. Oh well One day perhaps.

  13. Good Morning - 3rd April 2009 Earlier this week I was watching an episode of 'A place in the sun' and it was about a couple where she wanted to satay in Sidmouth and he wanted to go to Spain. Jasmin showed them some properties in Alicante but then went to Torrevieja. I recognised the beach 'Playa de Los Locos' and several other areas as we go to that area a lot, so Iwould be very interested to find out where the property was. She said it was close to the beach and it was a complex of apartments built around a pool, there was also a silly white dog in the apartment next door yapping that put the potential buyers off. Please can you tell me exactly where it was as Torrevieja is a very large place and most of the apartments along the front of the beach are high rise. Regards Anne Dixon from YORK

  15. Get off her case! Jasmine is a first class presenter and the most beautiful and attractive woman on television; she knocks spots off Lorraine Kelly, all the newsreaders, weather girls etc. Jasmine rocks!

  16. Jasmine Harmon drives me crackers!! She irritates me so much with her smugness and practically bullies the guests to buy her chosen properties. It almost appears as though she can't bare to 'loose' to Johnny (whom btw is a brilliant presenter). She needs to realise that the show isn't a competition between her and Johnny. It's to provide the buyers with the best options open to them. Jasmine - the show isn't about you!

  19. Jasmine is a very talented presenter but like many of the modern young people today, has mixed her subject (I) with her object (me) and always says: Join Jonny and I - now you can join Jonny and you can join me but you can't join I. Please get these lovely young presenters (indeed some of the confused older ones as well) to speak grammatically. Thanks

  21. I would be most grateful if you could inform me when the programme from the Dolomites - Cavalese - is to be screened. It was filmed Autumn 2008 (according to my friend Alberto of Immar Immobiliare in Cavalese). I am particularly interested in this area having skiied and walked here for many years. Alberto is also anxiously waiting for his DVD!!

  23. If John Kibbler get's irritated by Jasmine, goodness know's how upset he must get by the rest of TV's presenters and general TV offerings, probably furious. As for the Grand bit for thousands, well it's in very common use and language changes you know. And as she is so well spoken this hardly matters in fact adds colour. Have watched I think most of the programmes my opinion is Jasmine is truly delightful and professional.

  25. I just want Jasmine & Johnnie to know that I thoroughly enjoy their professional and friendly presentation of each programme of Place in the sun. I would not miss one and find their enthusiastic approach uplifting and enjoyable.I can't believe how anyone could describe Jasmin's behaviour as rude. She is always pleasant, articulate and has shown how she can show empathy when people get emotional and weepy. As a team they work brilliantly. I hope they will be with us for many more shows. In these credit crunch times its good to dream!

  28. Love the programme but I find the presenters , particularly Jasmin to be presumptuous, patronising and sometimes downight rude, particularly when the potential buyer seems not to agree with her opinion of the property; Finally, a trivial point, her use and pronunciation of the word "grand" for "thousand" I find irritating, However, I shall continue to watch the programme and try to ignore these aspects of the show. 29. Hi Jasmine, I'm from Portugal but I'm now living in London. I would like to invite you to visit Sao Pedro de Moel, one of the most beatiful places in Portugal. Sao Pedro the Moel is in the Silver Coast on the beach. There you can find natural beauty and the most exquisite houses. I think you should give britons the opportunity to know this place. All the Best Antonio

  30. Hi Johnnie and Jasmine just like to say thank you and update you on our purchase. we filmed in september and october last year. firstly with johnnie in the lake district and then with jasmine in the algarve where we found our ideal home. unfortunaely because of the housing situation in the uk, we are still trying to sell our house here. luckily the people we are buying from in the algarve have given us until november this year to sell. if anyone gets the chance to take part in the series please go for it. we had a fantastic time on both locations. johnnie, jasmine, ed and the rest of the crew certainly put us at ease. we had such a good time. its an experience we will never forget although i'm not looking forward to the viewing. a big thanks once again.

  31. Hello Johnnie and Jasmine, I just would like to say that you too are an amazing presenters, as I am originally from portugal(Madeira Island), but now living in London, I would love to see more programmes in Portugal and particularly in the Algarve and I really would like to see properties for more than half a million pounds. I love all this property programmes and two of my favourites are "A place in the sun" and "A Place In The Sun: Home Or Away?". Congratulations for the shows and keep up the good work you too make and the rest of the other staff as well.

  33. A 'place in the sun-home or away'is a very good and interesting program. Why don't you do a series in Greece ? The program has one flaw and that is that the locations and properties visited can never compete with the natural beauty of Jasmin Harmon :-) Regards Bruno

  41. Hi My wife and i with my two young sons are in the very early stages of relocating to Vancouver. Having looked at potential places to improve the lives of our two children we've set our hearts on Canada. We've placed our home up for sale and were in contact with the various websites relating to moving. We cant move until our home is sold as the sale of the house will fund the move. I wanted to find out if you could contact us to give advice and help us 100% decide on the move. I can fully appreciate this is a tall order and i also know that you will receive a high number of similar requests. We've passed an online test that scores you relevance to enter the country but any help would be greatly appreciated I look forward to hearing from someone as my wife and i are avid fans of the show Warmest Regards Lee
