Keep your hob sparkling and no-one will find out about the midnight fry ups.
Ceramic and induction hobs are vulnerable to scratches, so don't scrape the surface or use anything abrasive on it. Wipe off spills as soon as possible (especially sugary ones) and work off burnt-on gunge with a special plastic scraper. Follow manufacturer's advice on the best cleaner for your hob.
Gas hobs can be dismantled somewhat for cleaning - put pan stands in the dishwasher or soak in biological laundry detergent and hot water. The burners can be scrubbed with bicarbonate of soda and water, and wipe down the base plate with warm soapy water. Polish glass or metal surfaces with a microfibre cloth for smear-free loveliness.
Always check manufacturer's instructions first. Always try a test patch first. If you are unsure as to whether the item you are cleaning is suitable for our instructions, take professional cleaning advice first.
