You will definitely need someone with knowledge of all aspects of developing to make this work. A small to medium-sized local building company who can call on an architectural technician and building surveyor may be the best bet.

We're assuming this is more of a commercial development than a way of creating a dream home. If you want something more than a standard block built box, you could contact RIBA and find local architects who could project manage the entire project; however, this could take up to £20k out of your eventual profit.
You should really try dedicated land websites such as UKLandDirectory; Building Plot; PerfectPlot.co.uk, and Plotfinder.net amongst others.

Beware of some investment firms offering you plots of Green Belt land with the huge profits but no planning permission. Of course, it’s also worth trying your local papers, land agents and just asking around.
