Building a house is a huge task - some might say Herculean. It is also the chance to realise a vision.
People who do it want something different. For instance, they want to design an environmentally sustainable home. Or they custom-build for their work and interests - a studio for a painter, a sound-proofed wing for a musician. Or they fall in love with a chapel or a factory and decide to convert it.
