Budget

You can add items as and when you can afford them but here's a rough guide to the basics...

£250 - £500: Dumbbells with fully adjustable weights. Medicine ball, jump rope and heart monitor.

£500 - £1,500: As above plus good quality exercise bike.

£1,500 - £5,000: As above plus multi-gym, treadmill.

The Pros

  • No more wasted gym membership fees to feel guilty about
  • Daily exercise when it suits you
  • You choose the music
  • Affordable luxury - you can add extra equipment later
  • Can be taken with you when you move house

The Cons

  • Sacrifices a room unless you have a garage/outbuilding conversion
  • Limited range of equipment
  • No break from being in the house

What a load of nonsence! i have a multigym, wieghts a treadmill a rowing machine and allsorts of other bits and pieces, more than enough 4 a home gym and i got them all 4 under a grand! u dont need a shower in there or a flat screen on the wall this guy doesnt have the first clue about what it is to do the gym!

  2. Great article. I found that Totally Fitness were a very helpful and gave a professional approac to their service. They didn't try to sell there "high profit" or most expensive units, they listened to what I needed. They even helped me source mirrors, fans and flooring. overall I fantastic eperience!! www.totallyfitness.co.uk for sure!! and channel4.com for the DIY pages to help built it all and supplying the advice and the link in the first instance!!
