There's no harm in putting a contemporary extension onto an old building - or even connecting two older buildings with a contemporary addition. Bear in mind that older buildings tend to get less daylight inside than newer ones, though, and use this as an opportunity to create a structure that will bring light into the existing interiors. Putting a guest bathroom in space under stairs, to give the impression of space should I use small tiles on the floor as the room is rectangular?

I have a beautiful barn conversion that is great apat from the itchen which lets it down because it is too small and not as light as the rest of the property. It is between the double attached garage and the room I use as an office. Please could you refer me to specialist people capable of making an inkeeping extension within a reasonable budget albeit not negigible.
