12. Consider The Materials' Ageing Properties (Image 12 of 13)

Whatever you use on the exterior of your building, particularly traditional materials, will age with time. When you buy them, ask if the seller has examples of aged materials - or if they know of any local buildings that have used them so that you can see how they've aged. Wood, in particular, fades with time, usually going a more silvery colour, and this is something to bear in mind when choosing other finishes, such as stone or paint. Extension by Carpenter Oak

Putting a guest bathroom in space under stairs, to give the impression of space should I use small tiles on the floor as the room is rectangular?

I have a beautiful barn conversion that is great apat from the itchen which lets it down because it is too small and not as light as the rest of the property. It is between the double attached garage and the room I use as an office. Please could you refer me to specialist people capable of making an inkeeping extension within a reasonable budget albeit not negigible.
