Step Two

Hold the steam pad over one of the bottom corners of the wall for at least 30 seconds before testing if the paper is loose enough to peel away with the scraper. Repeat until you can peel away strips of paper. Work along the wall, dampening one area and scraping it off the wall while holding the stem pad on the next section. Work across and up the wall.

Step Three

Work tidily, putting all the wet strips in a rubbish bag as you go. Otherwise the old paper will stick to skirting/floor surfaces as it dries out. Continue across the rest of the walls and ceiling but make sure the scraper is kept at a low angle to prevent it digging in to the walls.

Step Four

Wash off any glue or small pieces of paper with a sponge and soapy water. Leave to dry and gently sand down any rough areas. You may also need to fill hairline cracks and areas of damage with a plaster filler. Sand smooth and redecorate.
