Flooring, from £300 per linear m, Corian

Why We Like It

In a league of its own, Corian is a durable and hygienic acrylic-based material that can be shaped for a seamless fit between the floor and the wall.

Your Choices

Available in more than 100 colours, including whites, neutrals, pastels, brights, solids and textured colours.

Looks To Go For

Put colours together to create the impression that the floor is made from one seamless piece, or match the floor to a Corian work surface in the kitchen, or sinks and countertop in the bathroom for a homogenous look.

Where To Use It

It is most commonly used in bathrooms and wet rooms.

How To Look After It

A quick wipe is all that's needed to keep it in tip-top condition, and scratches won't show as the colour goes all the way through.

What It Costs

Here's the catch - it starts at £300 per linear m.

  1. Installed the Corian tiles really do look like one seamless piece. I saw a demo at the London Home Show in 2008. They also did a display of the tiles resilience when it comes to stains and heat, which seems to be limitless. I'd absolutely recommend these tiles for kitchen counter top use, as far as I could tell they are practically indestructible. I guess it's true, you really do get what you pay for!

  2. Corian definitely is in a league of it's own and great for kitchens. Matching to counter tops is a great option for a well balanced look and very durable. While bathrooms are the most common spaces the options for kitchen use make it a great choice for stylish homes. I am sure that as posted by Richard there are many cases of commercial usage but also would be interested in the answers.

  3. Can you tell me is there any published data on slip resistance for corian used as a floor and has it been used in a commercial environment??
