Art Nouveau

Period Piece
For period renovations that won't break the bank this modern reproduction Art Nouveau cast iron design is hard to beat. While it might not please the purists at least you'll have money left for some furniture.

Cost £20 per section (minimum three sections).

Air

Feature Wall
When interior designers and plumbers get together you can often lose function over form (or vice versa) but the Air manages to be a high quality steel radiator with cylinder valves that'll put most 'accent walls' to shame by adding instant colour and texture to a room.

Cost From £1,563.

Metacrylic Flora

Wow Factor
Ok, so it might not be for everyone, but for added 'wow' to any room the Metacrylic Flora is hard to beat. Combining an efficient steel radiator and wacky acrylic decorative overlay could well point towards the next big thing in radiators.

Cost From £2,068.65.

Knock On Wood

Warm Wood
For a softer more organic looking design, this radiator has a smooth solid wood FSC approved beech wood casing that always remains at a touchable temperature. This range of radiators is also efficient with the manufacturers claiming energy savings of at least 10 per cent. From B&Q, it measures H300 x W1000 x D128mm.

Cost From £249.

  1. Why can't a cast iron radiator be a designer radiator? Just because something is not 21st century looking doesn't make it non designer. I do agree though that the cast iron radiator listed here would look out of place in a modern home but just because it isn't modern looking doesn't mean it shouldn't be shown on these pages.

  2. I'm surprised they include cast-iron radiators in an article about designer radiators. Cast iron radiators have a wonderful solidity to them and can be the focal point in a period property, but I wouldn't dream of having them near a chic, modern property. The real benefit of modern designer radiators I've found is the vertical radiators - tall slim radiators which provide the same heat output, but don't take up so much of the room's "footprint".

  3. I agree, nowadays you can find everything form Victorian style radiators to contemporary designed ones, You don't have to hide it away, like people used to do, I believe that if you choose a well designed radiator it could raise your home value when selling your property

  4. After having a quick look through the pages here it has some good general information, but nothing specific or in detail. This isn't the site for that I guess but it would be nice if it was their.
