4. Silence and Grace
4. Silence and Grace (Image 4 of 15)
Silence and Grace caused a stir with the eye-catching Orchid Chair – a curvaceous lounge chair constructed from a one-piece moulded fibre glass shell, mounted on a tubular steel base. In addition to its gorgeous outline, it comes with a complementary feather duster which helps to keep the lower part of this voluptuous chair clean and dust free. You can also stash magazines and newspapers in the convoluted fold of its lower half. Silence and Grace is based in Bristol and also brought the equally quirky and arresting W chair, a modern, cantilevered design, to the exhibition. ‘This lounge chair pays homage to the great designs of the 50s and 60s, using today’s materials and knowledge. The Orchid is a fluent and seamless shape, comfortable to sit on and designed with love for detail.’
