The 4Homes Colour Panel
Firstly, we quizzed the Crown Trends Panel, a team of experts which has created five distinct colour collections to embody the spirit of each individual trend that they have identified as being a key theme for 2009. The panel includes:
Angela Wright FRSA (Colour Psychologist). Angela is the founder of Colour Affects, a colour consultancy, and she is an expert on the unconscious effects of colour.
Professor Wendy Dagworthy, Royal College of Art. Wendy is Head of the School of Fashion and Textiles at the Royal College of Art.
Louise Gray, Fashion Designer. Louise launched her own label in 2007 and was shown for a third season at London Fashion Week.
Jo Ravendale, Senior Brand Manager Crown Fashion. Jo has been with Crown Paints since 2005 and is part of the team responsible for colour, trends and the creative development of Crown.
Roberta Holm, Creative Director and Stylist. Roberta has a background in interiors magazines and now works as an editor, curator and style director, specialising in cutting edge design direction for photography.
Judy Smith, Crown Colour Consultant. Judy Smith has had a long career in interiors, starting as a home journalist, then working as a stylist and art director. She now concentrates on colour and trend forecasting for clients in the UK and Europe. She has enjoyed a long relationship with Crown as Colour Consultant for the company.
Rebel Rebel, Florists. Formed in 2001 by Athena Duncan and Mairead Curtin, the company initially concentrated on events and parties, but opened their first shop in 2005. Their style is loose, fresh and soft, using English flowers wherever possible in fragrant and striking designs.
We also asked other industry experts, including:
John Dison, Managing Director of earthBorn environmentally-friendly paints.
Mockie Harrison, Manager, Design Studio Home, whose work for John Lewis has resulted a 2009’s beautiful new range.
