Before we get to our top picks, we should probably make sure we know what all that jargon means...
4* freezer Can freeze down fresh food as well as store any frozen food for a maximum of 12 months.
Automatic defrost Controls frost build-up so you'll never have to waste time manually defrosting the fridge.
Climate controlled zones A clever feature that allows you to have different temperatures within the fridge, so you can keep your meat very cold (for good hygiene) but your salad slightly cooler (and therefore crisper).
Energy rating All fridge-freezers are tested for energy efficiency so this is an important feature to look out for. It is rated A++ (the most efficient), A+, A, B or C.
Humidity controlled crisper Allows you to maximise the storage life of your fruit and veg. Select high humidity for vegetables and low humidity for fruit.
Glass shelves Usually found on expensive fridges, they stop spills dripping through, unlike cheaper wire shelves.
Antibacterial coating Bug-busting interiors that stop nasty germs colonising your fridge will prolong the life of food and save you from being a slave to shopping.
Frost free No frost build-up, so no defrosting the fridge-freezer. Nice.
Air cooling Cool air circulated by a fan gives you an even temperature throughout the fridge, so no dodgy warmish areas.
Child lock Stops little blighters/angels from tampering with your highly-refined fridge settings.
