In-Sink, £1,600 by Kitchenaid
What's so great about it?
OK, so next to your average dishwasher, this looks a little pricey, a little small, a little inefficient, but it's not really fair to compare - this is a whole different concept.
It fits into the space normally taken up only by a draining board and can run through a programme in just 30 minutes - ideal for when you're cooking and need to clean up your preparation mess. If you need more sink space, just lift out the basket, and voila! a double sink. And with the lid down, you have a draining board or work area. It has a surprising amount of space (it can take plates up to 29cm), five wash programmes and it can be slotted into your worktop or fitted flush.
The science: H560mm x W876mm x D559mm; 5 place settings; BBB ratings; 57dB.
In other words: Brilliant for small kitchens, serious cooks or anyone who loves a cute little gadget.
