In addition to its aesthetic benefits, the staircase also serves as divider in the entirely open-plan ground floor, enabling this busy family of six to use the spaces in different ways, whether cooking over the open grill, relaxing on the sofas or reading in the library area.
But doesn't it drive Juliette a little bit crazy that she can never shut the door on the sounds of family life? 'Not really,' she says. 'It actually works incredibly well for us and it never feels at all claustrophobic. The children all have their own bedrooms so sometimes I even feel quite isolated from them!'

Keep your bedroom as uncluttered as Bruno and Juliette's with the Kyoto bedstead in oak and matching underbed drawers from Next, as well as The Pier’s Savannah nightstands. And if it's all just too tiring, relax in a rattan hammock chair from Habitat.
The five bedrooms are all on the top floor and, once again, Eric has used his artistic flair to create a space that is light and welcoming, nowhere more so than the master bedroom with its vaulted wooden ceiling and huge windows. Juliette's home office is next to the bedroom and benefits from magnificent views of the surrounding areas. 'As I work from home it was important to create a quiet space away from the kids that had plenty of natural light,' she explains.

No penthouse is complete without a fabulous roof terrace, and Juliette and Bruno's home is no exception. Surrounding the top floor of the apartment, it is one of their favourite spaces to unwind. 'I know this will sound incredibly corny, but it's amazing to sit out here and watch the sun go down over the rooftops,' she says.
