- If the surface is already painted remove any old or flaking paint by scraping or sanding carefully with a fine sandpaper, then wash the surface thoroughly to make sure it is totally clean, before applying one or preferably two coats of acrylic water-based paint for wood.
- After painting with water-based paints, simply rinse brushes thoroughly with warm water and soap. No white spirit is necessary, so it’s definitely gentler on the skin.
- The colour finish of quality paints lasts longer. Make sure you buy the best you can afford.
- Water-based acrylic paints dry quicker and have less odour than solvent-based paints.
