  1. I have a 2 bedroom detached bungalow and would like to convert the loft to a bedroom with ensuite. I would also like to make the 2 existing bedrooms into a through lounge and the existing lounge into a bedroom. Can you give my some idea of what budget I would need for this work.

  2. Having bought my material and lining I was just too scared to start. Now, after reading these remarkably clear, simple and straightforward instructions I feel much more confident. I may run into a bit of difficulty when it comes to mitring the corners but I'll worry about that when i get to it.Thanks Naomi.

  3. Hi Baffled of Scotland Sorry you couldn't follow this. Here's what you need to do with hems, if that helps - it's within the Unlined Curtains instructions, as mentioned above: Temporarily hang the curtain by a few hooks and mark off the desired length with pins. Take down the curtain and turn up a double hem to the marked length and press. To make a neat finish at the lower corners, open out the folds at the sides (unpick the side hem you've already sewn), and the hem. Fold in the corner at an angle, then carefully refold all the turnings to make a 'mitred corner'. Hand-sew the hem and the mitre (you can use the machine if youre in a hurry).

  4. I could not make out at all how to make lined curtains, a step by step guide with illustrations would have been much more help. All you mention is unlined and do not say anything about managing the hems Baffled of Scotland
