3. A very good programme. I am watching the programme second time around as I enjoyed the programme back in April. I have visited the candle shop where Kirsty made her candles. It is a really good candle shop and well worth a visit. Lots of nice coloured candles. The shop is in close to Olympia in London. I have visited once so far, but hope to go back to the nice candle shop in the futer. Making items is much more pleasing than buying items. You can look back and say "I have done that and I am very pleased with it". I do a lot of crocheting which I have great fun sorting out the different colours to put together. I have crocheted blankets for friends and family. Now I am crocheting blankets to donate to the Dog Trust. Dog and cats love knitted or crocheted blankets to sleep on. I have crocheted three king size blankets to go over a double bed. They are four inch squares. 24x24 squares and then crochet a border around the edge. It's very enjoyable to put the colours together. My favourite colour is blue. Crocheting also helps to keep my stiff wrists and fingers moving, due to arthritis.

4. I'm trying anything and everything to stop smoking, so I think candle making will keep my hands busy and keep my mind off the fags! Hope it helps! Fab show by the way!

5. I first thought of this in 2006. Back from a year if travelling and struggling to find work I was busy unpacking our belongings from the loft and found we had absolutely loads of old candles. Of various colours and size. I used a Pyrex dish and a saucepan to melt them all down. I didn't use wick but some thick wrapping string I already had and which I first dipped in the melted wax. Once it was dry and hard it stood in the melted wax easily although I waited until the candle had started to harden a bit first. I poured the melted wax onto those great glass yoghurt pots ( I think they are French) which are perfect for indoor or outdoor use- so that's wax and glass recycling all in one! So actually I didn't spend any money at all : ) Using essentail oils is a fab tip though and as I have plenty of those in the house too I will deco be trying it out. My friends thought I was nuts when I first did this 3 years ago- who's laughing now! ; )

6. I Did it this morning! It didnt cost me anything either! I just used old candle wax and a plastic beaker. It turned out great! To thread it, i just tied to wick around a pencil and hung it in the beaker. Thanks for the guide! Very helpful!

7. me too! I think I will really love finding those cute cups and coronation mugs for the candles to go in. They will make great christmas presents - shame Mother's Day has already happened!

8. I am so going to have a go at this. I really like the tea cup candles I saw last night. I am trying to make a little money by 'remaking'old things into funky new things, this is so I can try and fund a fledgling career in writing. So tea cup candles might work a treat! Thanks kirstie for all the tips!! Nat
