Less than £20 for cleaning products - you can buy solutions for specific tile types at good tile shops or DIY stores. Hire of wet and dry vacuum cleaner around £160.
Basic, assuming the tiles themselves are in good condition. If it looks like they need structural renovation, or if, after a couple of attempts at cleaning them, they still look in a bad condition, you might need to call in the pros.
Cleaning products; bucket; cloths; scrubbing brush; protective gloves; safety goggles; odour respirator; mop; wet and dry vacuum (available to hire at www.hss.com).

Vacuum or sweep the floor before you begin to remove loose dirt, then take a good look at the floor. If your tiles just need a good clean, you can remove dirt and deposits from the terracotta tiles with a scrubbing brush or mop.
A wet and dry vacuum cleaner is ideal for removing the dirty solution from the floor, and takes some of the elbow grease out of the job. However, don't invest in one of these until you've tried less costly methods.
