6. Create Your Own Design
6. Create Your Own Design (Image 6 of 13)
At the fanciest end of the market, you could work with a designer to create a unique wallpaper pattern made to your personal specification, just as Kirstie Allsopp did in Kirstie's Homemade Home. Popular in commercial settings such as bars and restaurants, designers do also accept commissions from mere homeowners, even if you wish to order a relatively small print run.
You need to have a very good look around to find a designer you want to work with – while they will do what they can to translate your ideas, they will have a signature style that will dictate the look of the finished article. Prices vary hugely and will depend on how long the design process takes, how intricate the pattern, what kind of printing techniques are used and so much more, but clearly commissioning an original paper to your own specification is going to be considerably more expensive than any other option.
