It's a major draw for potential buyers, the perfect party room and the place you'll spend all your time, day and evening - a kitchen-diner with space for slob-out sofas. Here's how to create one hard-working, do-it-all room.
The way we live in our homes has changed. Less of us sit down as a family to eat in a dining room anymore. Instead, busy working parents juggle cooking the kids' dinner with helping them do their homework and conjuring up a plan for that weekend's dinner party. Even if we won't admit it, we'd often rather have the telly on in the background, too, so we can catch up with the soaps while everything's going on...
So, doesn't it make sense to do it all in one room? We're not just talking major extensions here (although you might need one to get enough space). Maybe you've already got unused space in your home - perhaps a neglected dining room you can knock through to? Or you might already have enough space, but need to rethink how you use it.
Here are some tips on how to create your own all-in-one party room and family space.
