Although it is a good shape to make the 'work triangle' function well, it's likely an L-shaped kitchen (in other words, units that run in an L-shape) will be hemmed in by a dining table. In this case, careful placing of the various utilities will be needed to make the kitchen practical. The best option is to have all your cooking facilities - fridge, cooker, hob - along one wall, and your washing based facilities - sink, washing machine, dishwasher - along the second. That way, you should be able to cut down on moving between the areas too much.
