Inset sinks are the most popular option and this is where the lip of the sink stands a few millimetres above the worktop. Flush-mounted sinks are seamlessly installed with the worksurface and are more hygienic as there are no joins to harbour dirt and bacteria. Undermounted sinks meanwhile are rimless and usually installed under a stone or timber worktop while integrated designs are made from the same piece of composite or steel as the worktop.
