Get Gorgeous Finishes

Shiny, shiny is the only way to go. Gorgeous high gloss or lacquered units (look out for Parapan high gloss solid acrylic), glazed doors, glass splashbacks and worktop will do the trick. White will open up the space but don’t use it for every surface or your kitchen could look like an operating theatre.

Basalt-worktop. How To Plan A Small Kitchen

Use a splashback or worktop to give a colour boost. Find glass splashbacks at Glassology or B&Q. Look out for worktops in wonderfully vibrant quartz from Zodiaq, Silestone and Quarella.

flooring-concrete. Design/Plan A Small Kitchen

For flooring, go for plain colours. Rubber, vinyl or pale coloured tiles are a good bet. Bigger tiles will enhance space. Take a look at Quick-Step’s laminate tiles with the trendy look of polished concrete. If wood’s your preference, a pale shade without an obvious grain will enhance the smooth appearance.

  1. Hi, If it's a gas hob then it's not a good idea as opening the window will continually affect the burners so make sure it's electric. But with electric make sure you don't have excess fabric i.e curtain/netting or voille A gust of wing from an open window can blow onto a hot hob below. I had a fire in the kitchen as a result of the above!
