Roses grown in South-East Asia, or 'China roses', were brought to Europe in the 1700s and cross-bred with European roses to create the modern-day roses we have in our gardens. China roses were small and had lots of stems of flowers, just like these little rose plants. The rose is still an emblem of China and perceived to be very auspicious, so place somewhere bright and sunny and keep the soil moist for long-lasting luck.
