5. Chrysanthemum
5. Chrysanthemum (Image 5 of 6)
These easy-care plants are the national flower of China's neighbour Japan, and are one of the most popular flowers in the Orient. As well as being a symbol of luck in China, they create a better atmosphere in your home by removing toxins from the atmosphere. Keep in a bright spot and ensure the soil is moist but not soggy to keep your plant perky. Hunt out cute 'bloom' chrysanthemum plants for a more vintage look.
