If you don't want the expense of hiring an architect, and you're not interested in bespoke models from specialists, there are cheaper alternatives. Companies such as Homebase and B&Q offer designs from very basic models (rather more like a traditional summerhouse) for around £600 to what they describe as luxury cabins from £1,800. The turn-around can be quick because they come in kit form, but you'll have to construct them yourself, and they may not be as well insulated as the more expensive solutions.
