If there's space, putting in a range of plants that flower in different seasons, that have varying colours and textures and, importantly, nice scents, will make your front garden much more interesting. Also, choosing plants that don't need too much water, will help it flourish all year round. Here, the planting is quite Mediterranean - olive trees, verbena and sage all work well to create a fragrant garden.
