For a successful border, you’ll need to put together elements that create contrast. For example, include tall, upright plants and spreading ground-cover plants. Plan to have rounded leaves as well as sword-shaped leaves in your border. Opt for plants with large leaves alongside plants with masses of tiny leaves. Pick soft silvery-leafed plants and coarsely textured-leaved plants. Go for flowers with single extravagant blooms as well as those with masses of delicate flowers.
